Privacy, in plain language

Gacha Eats runs entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no ads, no tracking or third-party analytics, and no location access. It does not even have permission to use the internet, so nothing you log is sent to Studio in a Dot or anyone else. The rest of this page is that sentence, in detail.

Information the app handles

The app stores only what you type into it and the choices you make in it: places and their locations, dishes, prices, notes, and the lists you build up as you log (zones, cuisines, meal types, companions, price bands). It also keeps your banners, your pull and meal history, and your settings, such as theme, default currency, cooldown, and which fields you have made required. Zones are labels you name yourself. The app never requests location permission and holds no GPS data. All of it is used for exactly one purpose: making the app’s suggestions, journal, and stats work for you.

Where information is stored

Everything lives in a local database on your device. It is never uploaded, synced, or backed up by Studio in a Dot. That cuts both ways: uninstalling the app or clearing its data erases your log permanently, so use Export to keep your own backup file. That copy goes wherever you choose and stays under your control.

The app also opts out of Android’s automatic app backup, so your log is never copied into your Google account without you asking. The cost is that setting up a new phone will not bring it across. Export the file yourself and import it on the other side.

Sharing and third parties

Studio in a Dot does not collect, sell, share, or receive anything you log. The app contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics. Your device’s operating system and app store may collect standard information under their own policies, such as crash reports or install counts. That collection is governed by them, not by Studio in a Dot.

Permissions

Gacha Eats ships without internet permission. It is removed from the app at build time, along with permission to check network status, draw over other apps, and vibrate. That is why nothing is sent anywhere: not as a promise, but because the ability is not in the app.

The app touches files only when you export or import a backup, and only the file or folder you pick at that moment. It requests no location, camera, contacts, or microphone access.

On Android 13 and above no storage permission is declared at all, and the folder picker grants access to just the folder you choose. On Android 12 and below the file-handling library declares the legacy storage permissions, which is why a Play listing may show “files and media” there. They are capped at that Android version, the app never asks you to grant them, and they are used for nothing but export and import.

Your choices

You decide what goes in. Places, dishes, zones, cuisines, companions and the banners you create can be edited or deleted in the app. History keeps a record of past meals and pulls, including the names of places and dishes you later delete. Export your data at any time for your own copy. To erase everything, History included, use Delete all data in Settings › Data, or clear the app’s data or uninstall it. There is no server-side copy to ask anyone to delete, because none exists. If you use the feedback option, your own email app sends the message and you choose what to include.

Children

Gacha Eats does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

If a future version changes how data is handled, for example an optional cloud backup, this policy will be updated first and the change noted here with a new effective date. Nothing changes silently.
